Am I the Right Weight for My Body?

You may have seen the letters BMI. What do they mean? Body Mass Index. According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Body Mass Index is the "measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women." Basically, a BMI is measuring if your weight is consistent with your height. If you want to find out what your BMI is, please follow the link below. Ten Tips to Stay Physically Healthy
- Instead of looking for the closest parking spot at the store, don't hesitate to park further away and walk the extra distance.
- Use stairs opposed to elevators
- Drink lots of water...preferably 8 cups per day
- If you don't like to go to the gym, walk around the block a couple times each day. Or if you are a dog owner, take your dog on walks daily. Good exercise for you and your pet!
- Eat a good breakfast-including eggs, wheat toast, and natural juice
- Stop eating when you feel full...don't go overboard
- Buy more fruits, vegetables, and other healthy snacks opposed to candy, ice cream, and other sweets.
- Do not eat past nine o'clock at night.
- Ride your bike or walk to the grocery store instead of driving.
- Join a recreational sport team. It's a great way to meet people in your community too!
