Ten Tips to Stay Physically Healthy

  1. Instead of looking for the closest parking spot at the store, don't hesitate to park further away and walk the extra distance.
  2. Use stairs opposed to elevators
  3. Drink lots of water...preferably 8 cups per day
  4. If you don't like to go to the gym, walk around the block a couple times each day. Or if you are a dog owner, take your dog on walks daily. Good exercise for you and your pet!
  5. Eat a good breakfast-including eggs, wheat toast, and natural juice
  6. Stop eating when you feel full...don't go overboard
  7. Buy more fruits, vegetables, and other healthy snacks opposed to candy, ice cream, and other sweets.
  8. Do not eat past nine o'clock at night.
  9. Ride your bike or walk to the grocery store instead of driving.
  10. Join a recreational sport team. It's a great way to meet people in your community too!
(Some of these ideas were influenced by the American Heart Association.)

  1. I work in the JSB on BYU campus and it only has 3 floors. I work on the 3rd floor and never take the elevator. I always feel bummed when I see people take the elevator b/c it's only 3 flights of stairs. I am always especially shocked when people use the elevator to go up one floor!

  2. It's good to remember to stop eating at night, that's the time that I WANT to snack!
